4-Aminocyclopentenones were synthesized from readily available glycals and secondary anilines, with the aid of a Lewis acid\u2013surfactant-combined catalyst. The reactions proceededvia<\/em>\u00a0a 4\u03c0 conrotatory electrocyclization, affording the corresponding 4-aminocyclopentenones in good yields with excellent diastereoselectivities.<\/p>\n
